Etihad Airways has resumed operations in Nigeria as the Federal Government continues efforts to expand international air connectivity and strengthen the country’s aviation sector.

The return of the airline is expected to provide passengers with more travel options, improve links between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, and support increased business and tourism activities.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, said the development reflects ongoing efforts to attract more international airlines and position Nigeria as a major aviation hub in Africa.

Aviation stakeholders welcomed the move, noting that increased competition among international carriers could improve service quality, create more travel opportunities, and boost economic activities linked to aviation.

They added that stronger air connectivity would support trade, investment, and tourism by making it easier for businesses and travelers to access global markets.

The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to implementing reforms aimed at improving airport infrastructure, strengthening industry confidence, and creating a more attractive environment for airlines operating in Nigeria.
