Nollywood actress Evans Okoro has publicly called out her colleague, Ekene Umenwa, over reports suggesting that Evans is living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

The controversy emerged after Evans’ name reportedly appeared on a list of Nollywood stars allegedly gossiped about by Ekene to a UK-based Nigerian nurse, Adanma Waller.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Evans expressed shock and demanded Ekene’s explanation.

She stated:
"I saw something on social media that really shocked me. My name appeared on a list, with claims that I am carrying a serious illness. Ekene Umenwa, did you add me to your list? Is this really what you said, or is this the work of the devil trying to bring me down? I even defended you, saying we should hear your side of the story. But seeing my name linked to HIV… it’s painful."

"Ekene, if this is what you said, may God punish you and your generation. But if it’s not, may God punish those who fabricated this lie. My mother is crying right now," Evans added.

This incident comes shortly after another controversy in which actress Destiny Etiko accused Ekene of making false claims that she had physically harmed her mother.
