EX-OGUN COMMISSIONER EMERGES APC CONSENSUS CANDIDATE FOR REPS SEAT
Former Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, has emerged as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adeleye also picked up her nomination and expression of interest forms, pledging to deliver quality representation and promote social and infrastructural development across Ifo and Ewekoro local government areas of Ogun State.
The former commissioner and two-term member of the Ogun State House of Assembly was selected during an APC stakeholders’ meeting held at the Ibara GRA residence of Chief Joju Fadairo.
The meeting was attended by several party leaders, including former Speaker Olakunle Oluomo, former federal lawmaker Shina Adegbenro, and APC leaders from Ifo and Ewekoro.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Adeleye described her emergence as a reflection of consultation, dialogue, and commitment to party unity.
“I am deeply humbled and sincerely grateful to acknowledge my emergence as the consensus candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency under our great party, the APC,” she said.
She added that the development was not a personal victory but “a collective responsibility entrusted” to her by party leaders and supporters.
Adeleye also praised Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun for his leadership and commitment to fairness and party cohesion.
She thanked party stakeholders and supporters who advocated for equity in representation, saying their support helped shape her political journey.
The APC candidate further commended other aspirants for the seat, including the incumbent Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka, for their maturity and commitment to party unity.
According to her, the ambition is centred on inclusiveness and consensus-building rather than exclusion.
“As we move into the next phase as structured by our great party, I look forward with great optimism to your continued individual and collective support,” Adeleye stated.
She pledged to pursue representation that reflects the shared aspirations of constituents in Ifo and Ewekoro.
