EXPLOSION ROCKS TRANS NIGER PIPELINE IN RIVERS STATE
March 18, 2025
An explosion has jolted the Trans Niger Pipeline in the Bodo Community of Gokana Local Government Area, Rivers State. The blast occurred late Monday night near the under-construction Bodo-Bonny Road, sending thick plumes of black smoke into the sky and igniting a fierce fire that quickly spread into the surrounding mangrove.
The Trans Niger Pipeline (TNP) serves as a vital federal transport line, delivering oil to the Bonny Export Terminal in Rivers State.
A representative from Renaissance Africa Energy Holdings confirmed that the company is actively addressing the situation. This incident follows their recent landmark transaction with Shell, acquiring full equity in the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria.
As reports continue to emerge, the fire remains a significant concern, threatening the delicate mangrove ecosystem in the area.
