Global professional services firm EY has trained finance professionals, regulators, and business executives on the Financial Reporting Council (FRC)'s newly introduced valuation guidelines, aimed at improving consistency and transparency in financial reporting across Nigeria.

The training brought together key stakeholders to explain the updated framework, which sets clearer standards for valuing assets, liabilities, and businesses in line with global best practices. Participants also explored the practical implications of the new guidelines for financial statements, corporate transactions, and regulatory compliance.

Speaking during the session, EY experts emphasized that accurate and independent valuations are becoming increasingly important as businesses navigate evolving market conditions and heightened investor expectations. They noted that the revised guidelines would strengthen confidence in financial reporting while reducing inconsistencies in valuation practices.

The workshop also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss implementation challenges and share practical insights on complying with the new requirements. EY reaffirmed its commitment to supporting organizations with the knowledge and expertise needed to adapt successfully to the updated FRC valuation standards.
