The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has denied reports claiming it ordered 2020 model vehicles for use as airport taxis, describing the allegation as false and misleading.

In a statement, FAAN’s spokesperson, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, clarified that the authority has no such plan and is focused on modernising airport infrastructure and improving passenger services through legitimate procurement processes. “We did not order any 2020 cars for taxi services. Such claims are baseless,” she said.

The denial comes amid public concerns over the age and suitability of vehicles used for airport transportation. FAAN has assured stakeholders of its commitment to transparency and adherence to due process in all procurements.

The authority urged the public to disregard the rumour and rely on official channels for accurate information.
