FAITH JOURNEY DEEPENS AS TONTO DIKEH ABANDONS ‘KING’ TITLE
Nollywood star Tonto Dikeh has officially announced a change to her public identity, revealing that she has removed the title “King” from her name after eight years.

The actress made the announcement at the start of the new month, explaining that the decision was made in obedience to the Holy Spirit and in alignment with what she described as God’s purpose for her life.
She urged the public to now address her as Evangelist Tonto Dikeh, Tonto Dikeh, Aunty Tonto, or Big T, stressing that the change followed spiritual guidance.
According to her, making the declaration on the first day of March symbolises a new phase in her life, as she believes God is leading her away from past identities into a renewed purpose. She emphasised that she would no longer respond to “King Tonto,” noting that the decision was based on divine instruction.
Since turning 40 last year, the actress has openly embraced a more devout Christian lifestyle, distancing herself from aspects of her previously controversial public image.
Last month, she announced her graduation from a Discipleship class, describing her journey with God as deeply transformative—healing, stretching, overwhelming, and beautiful. She also affirmed her unwavering faith, stating that her experiences have strengthened her belief in God.
In a recent social media post, she encouraged Christians to deepen their prayer lives, urging people to open their hearts to receive miracles. She shared that she is spiritually contending for her life, destiny, child, and generation.
The actress has also spoken candidly about her past struggles, including addiction and masturbation. She disclosed that she began smoking at age 13 due to her father’s influence and continued for 27 years before overcoming the addiction. She also revealed battles with alcoholism.
Following these revelations, she reintroduced herself to the public as a living testimony of divine mercy, saying she is among those God spared, restored, and commissioned. According to her, God transformed her past challenges into a renewed sense of destiny and purpose.
