FAKE NSCDC OFFICER ARRESTED IN KATSINA
The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the arrest of a man posing as one of its officers in the Kwado area of Katsina metropolis.
The suspect, identified as Abdurrashid Gambo, was caught on Sunday, August 31, 2025, after residents noticed him wearing an NSCDC uniform and suspected him of theft.
According to the NSCDC spokesperson, SC Buhari Hamisu, Gambo initially claimed he once volunteered with the Katsina Central Division of the Corps about six years ago. However, investigations later revealed that he had never been enlisted or recognized as a volunteer.
The NSCDC praised residents of the Kwado community for their vigilance and quick action, which led to the suspect’s arrest.
The Corps also urged the public to remain alert and report suspicious individuals who impersonate security officers, stressing that such vigilance helps strengthen community safety.
