Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has called on President Bola Tinubu to suspend his vacation and return to the country, warning that Nigeria is edging toward chaos and anarchy.

Falana accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio and the federal government of consistently disregarding court rulings and undermining the rule of law.

In a statement, the activist stressed that the refusal of powerful individuals and institutions to comply with judicial verdicts poses a serious threat to the nation’s legal framework.

“President Bola Tinubu should prevent the collapse of the state by suspending his vacation and halting the steady slide into anarchy and disorder,” he stated.

He further urged the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to devise strategies to address the persistent trend of disobedience to court orders.

Falana also criticized the Senate, describing its current leadership under Akpabio as the “most notorious” for treating judicial decisions with contempt.

“The judgments of courts are disobeyed by governments and powerful individuals. The most notorious institution is the Senate under the leadership of Senator Godswill Akpabio,” he added.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
