FAMILY OF ACTRESS PEJU OGUNMOLA DEBUNKS BATHROOM ACCIDENT RUMOUR, REVEALS TRUE CAUSE OF SON’S DEATH
The family of veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has cleared the air on the circumstances surrounding the death of her only child, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle, after several reports claimed he died in a bathroom accident abroad.
News of Ayomikun’s passing had thrown the movie industry into mourning earlier this week, with many colleagues and fans expressing shock and grief. Rumours quickly spread online that he died in the UK following a tragic fall in the bathroom.
However, in a statement released by family spokesperson Yemi Amodu, the family dismissed the claims as false. They clarified that Ayomikun passed away in Ibadan, Nigeria, after a brief illness, and not from any accident.
The statement read in part:
“We wish to clearly state that Sola did not pass away as a result of any bathroom accident, contrary to false reports being circulated online. He was briefly unwell and, during this period, received first-class medical care. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, he peacefully answered the call of his Creator. He passed away at a hospital in Ibadan and has since been laid to rest at Eternal Rest Home.”
The family also condemned misleading reports, noting that such rumours dishonour Ayomikun’s memory and cause unnecessary pain to his loved ones.
They further expressed gratitude to family, friends, and fans for their support during this difficult period, praying for strength and comfort as they mourn their beloved son.
“We pray that no family will ever have to endure the pain of untimely loss. May the Almighty grant Sola eternal rest and grant us all the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement concluded.
Ayomikun’s passing remains a painful loss to both his family and the Nollywood community, who remember him as a bright star gone too soon.
