FANWO HIGHLIGHTS TINUBU, ODODO PROJECTS AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTION

Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has said federal and state government projects in the state will influence political discussions ahead of the 2027 general elections. Fanwo linked the expected support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress to what he described as interventions in infrastructure, security, transportation, economic development and strategic investments. He made the remarks while assessing the relationship between the Federal Government and the Kogi State Government.

According to Fanwo, the reconstruction of major federal highways, support for security operations and the development of strategic economic infrastructure have strengthened cooperation between Abuja and Lokoja. He said Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration had also complemented federal efforts through investments in roads, healthcare, education, agriculture, security and rural development. Fanwo argued that the combination of federal interventions and state-level projects had given the APC a record it could present to residents as the 2027 elections approach.

The commissioner said residents were paying attention to the projects and opportunities resulting from the relationship between the two levels of government. He maintained that development should remain a major consideration in political discussions, particularly projects that improve living conditions and expand opportunities for young people. Fanwo also said the Tinubu administration had given Kogi residents reasons to appreciate its interventions in the state, citing visible projects and government initiatives as part of the administration’s record.

Fanwo further stressed the importance of continuity in the partnership between the Federal Government and Kogi State Government. He said ongoing projects, including road reconstruction, needed to be completed, while the state’s airport should become operational and economic corridors should continue to expand. According to him, sustained cooperation would also be necessary to attract more investments and create additional opportunities for young people across the state.

The commissioner said the APC would continue engaging with Kogi residents and communicating the policies and projects of both the Tinubu and Ododo administrations ahead of the 2027 elections. Fanwo’s comments amount to a political argument for continued support for the APC, based on the administrations’ record of infrastructure and development interventions in the state. The 2027 elections are expected to generate further debate among political parties and voters over the performance of the federal and state governments and the issues that will shape electoral choices.
