FCC COMMISSIONER ASSURES ENUGU YOUTHS OF FAIR ACCESS TO FG JOBS

A commissioner with the Federal Character Commission has assured youths in Enugu State that they do not need political godfathers or influential connections to secure employment opportunities with the Federal Government. The commissioner said recruitment into federal institutions should be based on merit, fairness and the established procedures rather than personal relationships or political influence.

Speaking to youths in the state, the FCC commissioner encouraged qualified young Nigerians to take advantage of available government employment opportunities and follow the proper recruitment channels. The official stressed that young people should not be discouraged from applying for federal jobs because they lack influential individuals who can speak on their behalf.

The commissioner explained that the Federal Character Commission has a responsibility to promote fairness and ensure that opportunities within federal establishments are distributed in line with the principles of the Federal Character Act. The commission is also expected to monitor recruitment processes to ensure that no section of the country or group of Nigerians is unfairly excluded from government opportunities.

The youths were urged to remain informed about official recruitment announcements and avoid relying on agents or individuals who demand money in exchange for securing federal employment. The commissioner warned that job seekers should be careful about fraudulent recruitment schemes and should verify opportunities through legitimate government channels before submitting their applications or making payments.

The assurance is expected to encourage more young people in Enugu and other parts of the country to pursue federal employment opportunities through the appropriate channels. The FCC official maintained that qualified applicants should have a fair chance to compete for government positions without needing political connections or what is commonly referred to as a “godfather.”
