FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DECLARES FRIDAY AND MONDAY AS EID-EL-KABIR HOLIDAYS
The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha (Eid-el-Kabir).
The announcement was made on Monday in a statement issued by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government.
In the statement, the minister extended his congratulations to all Muslims in Nigeria and across the Diaspora, encouraging them to uphold the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).
Tunji-Ojo also urged Nigerians to use the festive period to offer prayers for the nation’s peace, unity, and prosperity.
He emphasized that the people-centered reforms and initiatives under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are aimed at steering Nigeria back toward sustainable progress.
While wishing the Muslim faithful a joyous Eid-ul-Adha, the minister called on all citizens to support the current administration in its mission to restore Nigeria’s greatness.
