The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially launched the online portal for the much-anticipated National Youth Conference 2025, setting the stage for what could be the largest youth-driven policy event in the country’s history.

Unveiled by the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, the digital platform — https://nationalyouthconfab.gov.ng — is now open for delegate registration, idea submission, and real-time updates on all activities related to the event.

This year’s theme is:
“Next Gen Nigeria: Crafting Solutions, Owning the Future.”

At a press briefing in Abuja, the Minister made it clear: this isn’t just another conference. It’s a genuine platform for Nigerian youths to influence national policy and decision-making, especially on issues that directly affect them.

“This is more than just a conference. It is a generational turning point, a national movement, and a call to action,” Olawande said.

What is the National Youth Confab?

The National Youth Conference (Confab) is a government-led initiative designed to give young Nigerians a real voice in shaping national policies. It’s an open door for youth across the country — and even in the diaspora — to connect, contribute, and co-create policies on challenges such as:

Youth unemployment

Education and skill development

Healthcare access

Political inclusion and representation

How It Works

The Confab will unfold in three key phases:

Online Registration & Virtual Consultations – Already underway via the portal. This allows delegates to submit ideas, register for participation, and receive updates.

Zonal Consolidation Meetings – These will take place across the six geopolitical zones, gathering grassroots opinions and harmonizing regional input.

National Conference in Abuja – The final phase will gather all insights and proposals for a national policy presentation to top government officials.

A Presidential Backing

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu officially inaugurated a 44-member Planning Committee on March 10, 2025. The president had first mentioned the idea during his Independence Day speech on October 1, 2024, signaling a renewed commitment to youth engagement.

Why This Matters

According to Minister Olawande, the conference will give every young Nigerian — whether in a village, city, or living abroad — the opportunity to shape the country’s future.

“With over 70% of our population under the age of 35, Nigeria’s destiny is directly tied to the creativity, energy, and dreams of her youth,” he stated.

He stressed that the Confab will not be a "talk shop" but a participatory process with real impact, aiming to turn youth-driven ideas into actionable national policies.

Final Word

The 2025 National Youth Confab is more than an event — it’s a movement. It’s a moment for young Nigerians to rise, speak, and lead the transformation they want to see.

So whether you’re passionate about education, employment, innovation, or leadership — this is your chance to be heard.
