FERNANDES REPORTEDLY SET FOR BENCH ROLE AGAINST BOURNEMOUTH
Bruno Fernandes is reportedly set to start on the bench for Manchester United’s Premier League meeting with Bournemouth, although official confirmation of the decision remains outstanding.
The reported move follows the captain’s criticism of United’s tactical approach after their 4–1 Champions League defeat to Como.
Fernandes questioned the decision not to press the Italian side more aggressively, bringing attention to his relationship with manager Michael Carrick.
Speaking before Sunday’s match, Carrick declined to guarantee the midfielder a starting place, stressing that his decisions would reflect the club’s best interests.
Fernandes is understood to be fit. However, without confirmation from United, it remains unclear whether any omission would be tactical, related to squad management or connected to his comments.
United enter the Bournemouth fixture seeking to end a seven-game winless run across all competitions.
