FG BEGINS PASSPORT INTERVENTION FOR NIGERIANS IN FOUR UK CITIES

The Federal Government has launched a passport intervention programme for Nigerians living in the United Kingdom, extending services to four cities to make passport processing more accessible.

The initiative is expected to bring immigration and passport services closer to Nigerians who would otherwise have to travel long distances to the Nigerian High Commission in London.

The intervention is being carried out in four cities across the UK, allowing eligible Nigerians to complete parts of the passport application and renewal process within their regions.

The Federal Government said the move is part of efforts to address challenges associated with passport processing, including delays, long waiting periods and the difficulties faced by Nigerians living far from London.

The programme is also expected to reduce pressure on the Nigerian High Commission while improving access to consular services for members of the Nigerian community in the UK.

Officials said the intervention reflects the government’s commitment to improving service delivery and responding to the needs of Nigerians in the diaspora.

Nigerians seeking to benefit from the exercise have been advised to follow official announcements and requirements issued by the relevant immigration and foreign affairs authorities.

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to improve Nigeria’s passport administration and make services more efficient for citizens both within and outside the country.
