FG REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR IMF-ENDORSED ECONOMIC REFORM AGENDA
The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing key economic reforms supported by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), describing them as essential to restoring macroeconomic stability and driving long-term growth.
Government officials said the reform agenda focuses on strengthening public finances, improving fiscal discipline, attracting investment, and creating a more resilient economy. The measures are also aimed at addressing inflationary pressures, boosting revenue generation, and enhancing the efficiency of public spending.
According to the government, the reforms are designed to lay a stronger foundation for sustainable development while improving the business environment and increasing investor confidence. Officials acknowledged that although some policies may present short-term challenges, they are expected to deliver lasting economic benefits.
Analysts say continued commitment to the reform programme could help stabilize Nigeria's economy, improve access to international financing, and support private sector growth. However, they stress that effective implementation, transparency, and social protection measures will be critical to ensuring the reforms deliver meaningful benefits for businesses and citizens alike.
