FG’S REFORMS REWRITE NIGERIA’S ECONOMIC UNDERPERFORMANCE STORY – TINUBU
President Bola Tinubu says his administration’s economic reforms are aimed at ending decades of underperformance and helping Nigeria reach its full potential.
Speaking through Vice-President Kashim Shettima at the 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja on Monday, Tinubu said the government began its tenure with difficult decisions to address longstanding barriers to growth.
He described the reforms as a necessary step towards building a stronger economy, stressing that lasting prosperity requires sustained effort.
According to the president, the goal is to strengthen productivity and create opportunities across different sectors.
Tinubu said the success of the reforms must go beyond economic figures and translate into better livelihoods for Nigerians. He identified young jobseekers, farmers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and innovators as people whose prospects the government hopes to improve.
He also stressed that economic stability is essential for Nigeria to benefit from its growing population and abundant human and natural resources.
The president maintained that his administration remains focused on changing the country’s economic fortunes and laying a sustainable foundation for growth.
