FHA SECURES LAND IN 28 STATES FOR NATIONWIDE AFFORDABLE HOUSING DRIVE

The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has announced that it has secured land across 28 states of the federation to support its expanding affordable housing programme.

Officials said the initiative is aimed at increasing access to decent and affordable homes for Nigerians, particularly low- and middle-income earners.

According to the agency, the acquisition forms part of ongoing efforts to bridge the country’s housing deficit and promote sustainable urban development.

The FHA noted that the secured land parcels will be developed into residential estates under various housing schemes designed to improve home ownership opportunities.

It added that partnerships with private developers and financial institutions will be key to accelerating construction and delivery timelines.

Housing sector experts say the expansion could help address Nigeria’s growing demand for affordable accommodation, especially in urban centres experiencing rapid population growth.

The agency also emphasized that infrastructure planning, including roads, water, and electricity, will be integrated into the housing projects.
