FIGHT OVER TAP WATER CLAIMS LIFE OF 17-YEAR-OLD TEEN IN KANO
Tragedy struck in Kano State as a 17-year-old boy, Musa Muhammad, lost his life following a fight with his friend over access to tap water.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared details of the incident via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday. The altercation reportedly took place on Saturday at Rijiyar Lemo Quarters in Kano.
According to the police, the victim's father, Muhammad Haruna, reported the incident at the Bachirawa Police Station.
Haruna stated that his son had gone to fetch water around 11 a.m. when he encountered his 16-year-old childhood friend, Muhammad Aliyu. A disagreement between the two escalated into a physical fight.
During the scuffle, Aliyu allegedly struck Musa in the face, causing him to collapse instantly. He was immediately taken to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Musa’s remains have since been handed over to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
Police confirmed the arrest of the suspect and said an investigation is currently underway.
