The Minister of State for Finance, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, has outlined ambitious strategies to propel Nigeria towards a $1 trillion economy, emphasising the need for sustained high growth and structural reforms.

Speaking at recent economic forums, the minister stated that achieving the target requires annual GDP growth of between 10% and 12% over the next decade. The current GDP stands at approximately $375 billion, necessitating accelerated productivity and investment.

Key pillars of the plan include the Disinflation and Growth Acceleration Strategy (DGAS), capital mobilisation, sectoral focus on agriculture, energy, manufacturing, technology, and infrastructure development. The government aims to shift from consumption to production-led growth.

Uzoka-Anite highlighted ongoing reforms such as exchange rate unification, fuel subsidy removal, and investment-friendly policies to attract private capital and improve the business environment.

Stakeholders view the roadmap as a bold step towards long-term economic transformation, with emphasis on private sector participation and policy continuity.
