A fire outbreak at a filling station in Song, Adamawa State, destroyed trucks and other valuable assets.

The blaze, which occurred in the Song township during the night between Thursday and Friday, quickly consumed much of the fuel station and an adjacent furniture showroom.

Eyewitnesses said the intense fire sparked panic in the area, but the combined efforts of nearby residents helped contain the flames and prevented further spread and loss of life.

Meanwhile, in Vuniklang, a community just a few kilometres from Yola, a rented residential building was also gutted by fire on Friday night, destroying household items and much of the structure.

Similarly, in Jimeta, within Yola North Local Government Area, a house in Badarawo went up in flames as daylight gave way to night on Friday.

Among the three incidents, the Song filling station fire drew the most attention and responses from both locals and government officials.

Idris Yahaya, Chairman of Song Local Government, visited the affected sites and expressed sympathy to the owners of the filling station and furniture showroom.

“This is a difficult time for our community and the affected families. We share in your grief and losses,” Yahaya said, assuring that the council would provide support to help them recover.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
