The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has unveiled a new podcast called the Tax Advocacy Podcast, a bi-weekly series aimed at enhancing public understanding of Nigeria’s dynamic tax environment.

In a statement released on Monday, FIRS announced that the podcast will be hosted by Aderonke Bello and will function as an educational platform to clarify the agency’s services, products, and policies.

The podcast intends to simplify tax-related issues for everyday taxpayers, encourage voluntary compliance, and promote a culture of responsible citizenship throughout the country.

Each episode will offer detailed insights into FIRS’s operations, highlighting the agency’s strategic plans, advancements in revenue management, and the vital role of taxation in national growth. The show will also feature experts from both within the agency and external stakeholders.

Commenting on the launch, Bello stated,
"The Tax Advocacy Podcast is more than just an information outlet; it is a channel for transparency, understanding, and engagement. We aim to close the communication gap between FIRS and Nigerians so everyone can grasp the importance of taxes and how they function."

This new platform underscores FIRS’s dedication to innovative public engagement and efforts to boost tax knowledge across all sectors.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
