FLOOD DISPLACES HUNDREDS, SUBMERGES HOMES IN YOBE

A heavy early-morning downpour in Potiskum, Yobe State, has left hundreds of residents displaced after floodwaters submerged at least eleven communities.
According to a preliminary report and spatial analysis by the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the affected areas include Old Prison, Filin Mashe, Unguwar Makafi, Unguwar Jaje Bakin Kwari, Afghanistan, and Tsangaya. Others are Karofi, Bayan Garejin, Dan Juma, Jigawa Bayan, Makarahuta, and Tandari.
While no fatalities have been reported so far, the agency says a detailed assessment of the damage is ongoing.
SEMA assured that the state government is committed to providing life-saving support and protection for all affected residents.
