Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerian youths to prioritise impact over the pursuit of money, stressing that true success comes from value creation and positive influence on others.

Obi made the call during the Faithspiration Initiative Youth Forum Season 3 held in Onitsha, Anambra State.

He said focusing on purpose leads to greater passion, stronger partnerships, and long-term fulfilment, adding that financial success often follows as a result of creating value.

According to him, “Focusing on impact rather than money creates sustainable success because value creation attracts financial rewards as a byproduct.”

Obi noted that happiness is derived from the lives one has touched and what one has contributed to society, rather than wealth accumulation.

Reflecting on his background, he recounted his humble upbringing in Onitsha, stating that one’s environment should not limit ambition or success.

He also spoke about his time as governor of Anambra State, noting that he prioritised service over personal gain and did not accumulate personal assets from public office.

Obi added that he is not desperate to become Nigeria’s president but is committed to seeing a country where merit, hard work, and opportunity prevail.

He encouraged young people to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to doing the right things, assuring them that opportunities will come with consistency and integrity.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
