"FOCUS ON MY PERFORMANCE, NOT MY DANCING" – GOVERNOR ADELEKE RESPONDS TO CRITICS
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has pushed back against critics who mock his regular public dancing, asserting that personal expression should not detract from his governance record.
Speaking at a recent public event, Adeleke addressed the criticism surrounding his often-viral dance videos, clarifying that dancing is simply a celebration of joy and self-expression, not an indicator of his effectiveness or capability as a leader.
“Stop judging me just because I choose to express myself through dancing. It is my joy, my freedom, and an essential part of who I am. If it brings me happiness and harms no one, then there is no reason it should be condemned,” Adeleke said.
Adeleke pointed out that other Nigerian political leaders also dance publicly without facing the same criticism.
“Sanwo-Olu is dancing. Everybody is dancing. Even Baba [President Bola Tinubu] is dancing. So, there is no law that says just because you are a governor, you can’t dance,” he added.
The governor called for an end to what he sees as unfair judgment, urging the public and political commentators to assess him based on his governance, not his personal hobbies.
Meanwhile, Nigerian music sensation Davido, who is also Governor Adeleke’s nephew, recently came to his uncle’s defense, praising his leadership and affirming his commitment to delivering good governance.
In a social media post, Davido hailed Governor Adeleke as the best Osun State has ever had, stating that many critics overlook his achievements due to his love for dancing.
Governor Adeleke affirmed that his performance in office speaks for itself, emphasizing that his passion for dancing should not diminish the impact of his work and commitment to the people of Osun State.
