FORMER WUKARI REP DANJI USMAN DUMPS APC, JOINS ADC AHEAD OF 2027
Former House of Representatives member for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency, Danji Usman, has officially left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to pitch his tent with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Usman announced his defection on Saturday in Jalingo, saying the move was a strategic step as he prepares for the 2026/2027 political season.
He expressed appreciation to his supporters across Southern Taraba, the state, and the diaspora, acknowledging their unwavering loyalty since he parted ways with the APC.
“Your support is evidence of our shared vision to rescue the people of Taraba from the grip of bad governance,” Usman said.
Explaining his choice of the ADC, the former lawmaker noted that his decision came after “careful consideration, due diligence, and wide consultations.” According to him, the ADC represents a credible platform to champion people-oriented policies and drive inclusive governance.
He further appealed to his supporters to rally behind his new political home.
“I urge all my supporters, well-wishers, and advocates of good governance to back this movement. Together, we can empower the underprivileged, improve living conditions, and support communities in need by firmly standing with the ADC.”
With this switch, political watchers say Usman has positioned himself as a major player to watch in Taraba politics as the countdown to the 2027 elections gathers pace.
