FRANK LAMPARD EYES REUNION WITH BEN CHILWELL AT COVENTRY CITY
Coventry City manager Frank Lampard is reportedly interested in bringing Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell to the club before the summer transfer window closes.
According to club insider Simon Phillips, Lampard is eager to reunite with the defender he signed for Chelsea back in 2020 during his spell in charge at Stamford Bridge. Chilwell, who joined from Leicester City for £50m, is now considered surplus to requirements under new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca.
The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace but has yet to make an appearance for Chelsea this campaign. With the Blues open to selling him, a move away looks increasingly likely.
Lampard, now in charge at Coventry, sees Chilwell as an experienced addition who could strengthen his squad and bring top-flight know-how to the Championship side.
With the transfer window set to close next week, Chilwell’s future could be decided very soon as Chelsea continue to trim their squad under Maresca.
