FUBARA ADMITTED POLITICAL CRISIS LED TO EMERGENCY RULE – APC CHIEFTAIN
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Taofiq Raimi, says Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has openly acknowledged the intense political crisis that prompted the six-month state of emergency in the state.
Speaking on Prime Time, an Arise Television programme, Raimi explained that Fubara’s remarks ended the debate over whether a crisis truly existed.
“The governor identified three principal actors in the crisis – his predecessor and now FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, whom he even described as ‘our leader’, himself, and the State Assembly,” Raimi said.
He added that Fubara also recognized President Bola Tinubu’s role in brokering peace, commending him for acting as a father figure during the crisis.
Raimi stressed that with peace now restored, the governor has pledged to focus on democratic governance and developmental projects across Rivers State.
