FUNAAB STUDENTS DEMAND UPDATES ON ABDUCTED CORPS MEMBERS
Students of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, have called for more information on the reported abduction of some National Youth Service Corps members in Ogun State.
The students expressed concern over the safety and whereabouts of the affected corps members, urging relevant authorities to provide clear and timely updates on efforts to secure their release.
The development has generated anxiety within the university community, with students and other residents seeking clarification on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The students appealed to security agencies and other authorities involved in the case to intensify efforts to locate the abducted corps members and ensure their safe return.
They also urged the authorities to strengthen security around areas where corps members and students travel or reside, particularly locations considered vulnerable to attacks.
The incident has renewed concerns about the safety of young Nigerians participating in the NYSC programme, which regularly deploys graduates to different parts of the country for national service.
Students said the uncertainty surrounding the incident was particularly troubling and called for greater communication from authorities handling the investigation.
Meanwhile, security agencies are expected to continue their investigation and rescue efforts while working to establish the circumstances of the reported abduction.
The university community said it remained hopeful that the affected corps members would be found and reunited with their families safely.
