Galatasaray are reportedly preparing a stunning swoop for out-of-contract Fenerbahçe star Bright Osayi-Samuel. The Nigerian defender, per insider sources, could make the controversial switch if a Premier League move fails to materialize.

“Galatasaray is in the game for Osayi. This transfer could be like the Batshuayi move last year. Because his contract is ending and the player wants a lot of money,” according to Zeki Uzundurukan's report in Gsgazete.

According to Uzundurukan's Gsgazete report, the Nigerian's agents have proactively reached out to Galatasaray—a clear indication that the controversial switch is being seriously explored as a fallback plan.

“His agent is in contact with Galatasaray. He has clearly stated that they will consider Galatasaray if England doesn’t work,” he added.

In a desperate bid to thwart their rivals' advances, Fenerbahçe are pulling out all the stops to retain their versatile star. According to Fanatik, the Istanbul giants are crafting a lucrative new deal that would significantly upgrade the Nigerian's £2.5m-per-year wages - though the exact figures being offered remain under wraps.

Bright Osayi-Samuel’s future hangs in the balance as his contract nears expiration, with Galatasaray and Premier League clubs circling the versatile defender. Since joining from QPR in 2021 for just €500,000, the Nigerian has reinvented himself as a key right-back under José Mourinho, starring in Fenerbahçe’s Europa League campaign and tight title race—where they trail Galatasaray by three points.  

Fenerbahçe are pushing to extend his stay with a salary bump beyond his current £2.5 million per year, but competition is fierce. Crystal Palace, Wolves, and Nottingham Forest have shown interest, with Osayi-Samuel even spotted at Selhurst Park earlier this season. 

Meanwhile, Galatasaray see him as an ideal free transfer—a proven Super Lig performer who could slot in immediately.  

While his representatives favor a Premier League return, the final decision rests on concrete offers. For now, Osayi-Samuel remains focused on Fenerbahçe’s title push, but the coming weeks could reshape his career—and the Istanbul football landscape.
