GANDUJE REJECTS ALLEGATIONS, SAYS HE HAS NO LINKS TO VIOLENCE
Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and immediate past Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has dismissed the Kano State Government’s call for his arrest, describing it as baseless and irresponsible.
The clarification was contained in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu. According to the statement, the action taken by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration reflects a failure to address the genuine security challenges confronting the state.
Ganduje criticized the governor for “chasing shadows,” noting that insecurity has continued to escalate in areas such as Bagwai, Shanono, Tsanyawa, and other communities, yet no meaningful response or visit has been made to affected residents.
The statement added that the governor’s alleged absence during critical security incidents “speaks volumes of his disconnect from the people he claims to represent.”
Ganduje maintained that he has never been linked to violence or any activity capable of disturbing the peace and stability of Kano State, insisting that the accusations were designed to mislead the public and divert attention from current challenges.
He urged Governor Yusuf to concentrate on his constitutional responsibility of safeguarding lives and property rather than engaging in political distractions.
It will be recalled that the Kano State Government recently demanded Ganduje’s immediate arrest over allegations of making inciting remarks and attempting to form an unlawful militia group in the state.
