GARY NEVILLE TELLS RASHFORD: FOCUS ON BARCELONA, FORGET UNITED CRITICISM
Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has advised Marcus Rashford to shift his focus to life at Barcelona rather than criticizing his parent club.
Rashford, who joined the Spanish giants on a season-long loan, recently sparked debate after claiming that United’s biggest problem is their tendency to sack managers too quickly. Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, he urged the Red Devils to follow the example of Liverpool and Manchester City, who give their managers time to build long-term success.
But Neville, responding on Sky Sports, dismissed the forward’s comments, insisting Rashford has already had a decade to influence things at Old Trafford.
“Let’s ignore that, because I don’t want to go into Marcus Rashford’s comments tonight,” Neville said.
“He was at the club for 10 years and had his opportunity to impact it. Ruben Amorim, this year, I think will do a good job. Marcus should concentrate on Barcelona.”
Rashford has played under five managers since making his United debut in 2016: Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Erik ten Hag, and Ruben Amorim.
Now, Neville believes it’s time for the England international to focus on adapting to Barcelona and proving himself on a new stage instead of dwelling on United’s past struggles.
