Mission warns prospective travelers against extortionate fees for guaranteed permits or paid appointment slots, reiterating that official booking services remain entirely free

The German Embassy in Nigeria has issued a stern advisory to prospective visa applicants, warning that no third-party agent or intermediary possesses the authority to guarantee visa approvals or expedite application processing.

Reaffirming its diplomatic stance, the embassy emphasized that it does not collaborate with or endorse any visa agents, cautioning Nigerians against paying millions of naira to fraud syndicates promising employment offers, expedited processing, or secured appointments.

The mission highlighted that all official guidelines, document checklists, and application procedures are freely accessible on its portal, stressing that visa appointment bookings across all legitimate categories remain completely free of charge.

Diplomatic officials noted that decisions on visa issuance rest exclusively with German consular authorities and are determined strictly on individual merit, eligibility, and document authenticity rather than third-party influence

Urging applicants to utilize the Consular Services Portal for official submissions, the embassy advised Nigerians to report fraudulent schemes and verify information directly through official channels to avoid financial losses and procedural delays.
