GOMBE MAN HELD FOR ASSAULTING, ROBBING GIRLFRIEND
The Gombe State Police Command has taken into custody a man accused of assaulting and robbing his girlfriend in a domestic incident that has raised concern among residents.
According to security sources, the suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged by the victim, who alleged that she was attacked and dispossessed of her belongings during the incident.
Preliminary reports suggest that a disagreement between the two escalated into violence, after which the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim and took her personal items.
The victim was reportedly treated for injuries sustained during the attack, while the suspect remains in police custody assisting with investigations.
Police authorities confirmed that the case is being treated as both an assault and robbery matter, adding that the suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
