‘GOOD MEN ARE RARE’ — KORRA OBIDI SPEAKS ON DATING STRUGGLES
In a video shared on her social media page, the divorced mother of two said becoming a single parent made her realise how limited the pool of suitable partners can be. She noted that despite her global exposure and popularity, she only encounters one or two men she considers genuinely good each year—and they are usually already in relationships.
“It isn’t until you’re a single mother that you realise there’s a scarcity of good men. As popular and international as I am, I only see one or two good men a year, and they are all taken,” she said.
Obidi’s remarks come years after her highly publicised split from her ex-husband, Justin Dean. In March 2022, Dean filed for divorce just weeks after the birth of their second child. The separation played out turbulently online, with both parties exchanging accusations and personal claims on social media.
The divorce was finalised on November 19, 2022, with both granted joint custody of their two daughters. During the proceedings, Dean reportedly sought full custody but was denied. Obidi later alleged during a Facebook Live session that he also requested spousal support, while she maintained that she had been solely responsible for their children’s school fees and health insurance.
In another live broadcast at the time, the dancer claimed there were attempts to control her and take custody of her daughters. She said she even received an email warning her to comply with certain demands or risk losing her children.
In 2024, Obidi revealed that she had endured two years of silent emotional struggles following the divorce, expressing gratitude for moving on from the marriage. She also questioned why critics often rush to judge her circumstances, wondering why some believe she fabricated the challenges she faced.
