Governor Ademola Adeleke Heads to U.S. for Davido’s Star-Studded Wedding

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has traveled to the United States to attend the much-anticipated white wedding of his nephew, Afrobeats superstar Davido and his wife Chioma Avril Rowland.

The wedding, set to hold in Miami, Florida, in August 2025, has been the subject of public interest ever since Davido announced it during an appearance on The Breakfast Club radio show earlier this year.

Amid speculation over the governor’s whereabouts, his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, released an official statement confirming that Adeleke left Nigeria via the family’s private jet to celebrate the joyful occasion.

“Governor Adeleke left Nigeria for the United States for the wedding of the global music icon, his beloved nephew, David Adeleke,” Rasheed stated.

He added a touch of humor by inviting even the opposition party—the All Progressives Congress (APC)—to join in the celebration, either physically or virtually.

“Those unable to attend may join virtually,” he said.

Rasheed also emphasized that Governor Adeleke has not taken any official vacation since assuming office in November 2022, and assured citizens that the current trip would be brief. He stressed that state matters remain in good hands, with the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, overseeing government activities during Adeleke’s absence.

“The Governor is in constant communication with his deputy, who is supervising state functions,” he added.

As excitement builds for Davido’s big day, the Adeleke family is expected to host a high-profile event attended by celebrities, dignitaries, and global figures from the music and political world.
