Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday convened a high-level meeting of the Lagos State Security Council to review the state’s security situation.

The governor emphasized that ensuring public safety and stability remains a key priority for his administration, noting that Lagos will continue to implement proactive strategies to protect lives and property.

In a statement shared on his verified X account, Sanwo-Olu said the meeting provided an opportunity to assess emerging security challenges and the government’s response measures.

“Today, I met with the State Security Council to take a closer look at our security situation and ensure we are responding with clarity and good judgment,” he wrote.

He stressed that the peace enjoyed by residents must be preserved at all costs, highlighting the council’s commitment to preventing threats before they escalate.

“Protecting the peace of Lagos is non-negotiable. I valued the honest conversations around the table and the shared commitment to safeguarding our state. I remain committed to the peace and security of the lives and property of all Lagosians,” the governor added.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
