GOVERNOR UBA SANI: NORTH-WEST ZONE PROGRESSING WELL UNDER TINUBU ADMINISTRATION
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has declared that the North-West zone is experiencing remarkable progress under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, describing the region as the “heartbeat” of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking at the APC North West Stakeholders meeting held in Kaduna on Saturday, Governor Uba Sani, who also serves as the Coordinating Governor of APC in the North West, praised President Tinubu for taking office during one of Nigeria’s most challenging periods and for his courageous leadership.
“President Tinubu is not afraid to make tough decisions. His bold reforms have begun to yield results, and Nigerians are starting to appreciate his genuine commitment to the nation,” the Governor said. He added that the APC has since become the preferred political party for many citizens and politicians.
Governor Uba Sani recalled that before President Tinubu assumed office in 2023, the North West zone was the epicenter of insecurity, plagued by banditry, terrorism, kidnappings, and violent crimes that severely restricted movement and agricultural activities. “Life was harsh and uncertain. At one point, the situation seemed hopeless. But after two years, there has been a significant turnaround,” he noted.
The Governor attributed the improvements to the Tinubu administration’s efforts to stabilize security and boost agriculture through the provision of farm inputs. He also highlighted the North West’s enhanced political representation at the federal level, noting the unprecedented appointment of 12 ministers from the zone, including prominent figures such as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Deputy Senate President, the APC National Chairman, and top military officers.
Infrastructure development has also been a key focus, with several major projects underway. These include the completion of the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Dual Carriageway, the Ilella–Badagry Road Project, rail projects in Kaduna and Kano, as well as the Birnin Gwari–Kaduna and Jere–Kafanchan roads.
Governor Uba Sani further mentioned the allocation of N95 billion for rehabilitating three dams in Kano State, the establishment of the Ministry of Livestock Development, and the creation of the North West Development Commission, which received the highest budget among regional development bodies.
In addition to infrastructure and security, the Governor pointed to advances in education and healthcare, with the creation of the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia and the upgrading of Patrick Yakowa General Hospital in Kafanchan to a Federal Medical Centre.
Concluding his address, Governor Uba Sani called on APC members and the public to consolidate these gains by supporting President Tinubu’s bid for a second term. “Mr. President is on a mission to reinvent our economy, eradicate hunger and poverty, and restore Nigeria’s position on the global stage,” he affirmed.
