The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has stated there will be no imminent resolution to his political rift with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his former protégé.

This declaration comes despite Fubara currently serving a suspension from office.

The strained relationship between the two politicians, once considered close allies, appears to have reached a point of no return as Wike has firmly closed the door on any short-term reconciliation efforts.

Former militant leader Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) has intervened in the ongoing feud between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, stressing the importance of peace for Rivers State's stability.

While advocating for compromise, Tompolo notably acknowledged his own intolerance for disloyalty from political beneficiaries - a pointed remark that adds context to the Wike-Fubara fallout. His intervention highlights the high stakes of the conflict, which continues to destabilize the oil-rich state.

He said, “And just like I will not accept rebellion from my son, I will also not cause more problems. Wike is angry, but he has to bring his temper down for the good of all. We will have a dialogue and resolve all lingering issues, and again Fubara will return to his seat.”

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
