‘HE NEEDED TO BE HANGED’ – OSHIOMHOLE REACTS TO FAROUK AHMED’S EXIT
Former Edo State Governor and Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has expressed approval of the resignation of Engr. Farouk Ahmed and Mr. Gbenga Komolafe from Nigeria’s petroleum regulatory agencies, calling their departure crucial for the country’s economic stability.
Oshiomhole made the comments on Thursday during the screening of President Bola Tinubu’s nominees for the roles of Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
Reflecting on the situation, he said, “He needed to be hanged.”
He added, “In my previous statement, I said if you don’t hang him, he will change Nigeria. Anyone who opposes job creation in Nigeria, favors importation of poverty, and exports our prosperity does not deserve to live.”
Oshiomhole further remarked, “I want to see how his case will unfold. I am still going to be drunk tonight because of Farouk’s removal.”
Farouk Ahmed, who served as Chief Executive Officer of the NMDPRA, submitted his resignation about 24 hours ago amid controversies surrounding his tenure.
