Afrobeats star Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel, has shared the emotional story behind his latest song, Al-Jannah, revealing how it was inspired by the deep losses he’s experienced over the years.

In a recent podcast interview, the singer described his late father as his best friend, stating that his passing in 2015 had a profound impact on him.

Al-Jannah means paradise,” Kizz Daniel explained. “I wanted to create a tribute song. We’ve lost many loved ones—our son in 2021, my dad in 2015, my wife’s mother in 2024, my stepmother—so many people. I wanted the song to reflect all of that.”

He noted that the song isn’t dedicated to just one person but is a tribute to all the loved ones people have lost throughout life’s journey. “I believe using the word ‘friend’ in the song helped me express that emotion,” he added.

Kizz Daniel’s father passed away on May 9, 2015, just days after the singer turned 21.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
