“I LOVE IT, BUT I CAN’T HANDLE THE PAIN” — FUNKE AKINDELE OPENS UP ON BBL
Nollywood actress and award-winning filmmaker Funke Akindele has shared her views on Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), revealing that she admires the procedure but would not consider undergoing it herself due to her low tolerance for pain.
Speaking during a recent episode of The Morayo Show, the Jenifa star said she appreciates enhanced body aesthetics, particularly subtle procedures, while encouraging moderation and careful consideration of the risks involved.
“I love to see beautiful women with beautiful bodies. I actually like BBL—the subtle ones, not the exaggerated types. I love a flat tummy and liposuction. I would consider it, but I don’t have the courage,” she said.
Akindele clarified that she is not opposed to cosmetic surgery, noting that individuals are free to enhance their appearance, but warned against going to extremes. “If you want to enhance your beauty, go ahead, but don’t overdo it. Be careful,” she added.
The actress also spoke about the impact of fame on her personal life, describing herself as someone who feels deeply and maintains high standards. She admitted that her strict and disciplined nature has sometimes led her to distance herself from people she once cared about.
Reflecting on the realities of stardom, Akindele described success as isolating. According to her, maintaining a top position often requires being guarded and disciplined, which can limit close relationships and lead to loneliness.
She added that while she is still learning how to better manage her relationships, prioritising her mental health remains most important.
