In response to Olisa Agbakoba, Natasha has firmly stated that she will not withdraw her lawsuit against Akpabio regarding sexual harassment.

In a formal letter dated April 30 and addressed to Akpabio’s counsel, Olisa Agbakoba, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan firmly stated her intention to pursue her sexual harassment lawsuit against Senate President Godswill Akpabio to its legal conclusion.

The lawmaker, who represents Kogi Central, emphasized her commitment to ensuring the case is resolved through the court system.

Agbakoba wrote a letter to the senator, asking that she retract what he described as a “clearly false and unsubstantiated” allegation.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has strongly defended her sexual harassment petition against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, reiterating that her claims are a truthful account of the events.

This reaffirmation came in response to a letter from Akpabio’s counsel, Senior Advocate of Nigeria Olisa Agbakoba, who had raised concerns about what he described as glaring inconsistencies in her allegations.

Agbakoba’s letter, dated April 14, 2025, demanded clarification, but the senator, in her reply dated April 30, maintained that her claims stand as submitted and should not be subject to further scrutiny outside the ongoing judicial process.

She also faulted the attempt to compel her to provide additional substantiation beyond what had already been filed in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, where Akpabio’s wife, Unoma, has a related case under suit number CV/816/25.

She stated that she would refrain from making additional remarks on the issue, emphasizing that only the court has the sole authority to determine the merit or otherwise of the case.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan voiced her concern over what she termed a troubling contradiction in the handling of her allegations.

She pointed out that Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who had previously used his privileged position to prevent the matter from being deliberated in the Senate, was now reportedly orchestrating a media campaign through his counsel, Olisa Agbakoba, demanding that she produce evidence in the public domain.

“The principle is elementary: a litigant may not approbate in the courts and reprobate in the press.

“The rule against parallel adjudication safeguards the integrity of judicial determination, preserves the fairness of proceedings, and secures the dignity of all arms of government,” she stressed.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
