I WILL SACK ANY APPOINTEE INVOLVED IN CORRUPTION – GOV OTTI
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has issued a stern warning to his appointees, making it clear that anyone found guilty of bribery or corruption will be immediately dismissed.
Speaking during a church service at the Abayi District of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Aba Conference, Otti emphasized that corruption has no place in his administration.
The governor’s warning comes just two weeks after six officials of the Ministry of Justice were sacked for allegedly padding their salaries.
“If anybody tells you to bring money for anything, it is a lie. He is a dupe because he will take your money and still not help you,” Otti said. “That is why you will never see bribery and corruption in this government. If you get involved, I will fire you. We are intolerant of corruption, and nobody can plead for you.”
Governor Otti also highlighted that the recent employment of 5,394 teachers in the state was strictly merit-based, stressing that none of the successful candidates paid a dime to secure their positions.
