IACE CALLS FOR BETTER VALUATION PRACTICES TO SUPPORT ECONOMIC GROWTH
The Institute of Appraisers and Cost Engineers (IACE) has called for stronger valuation practices to support economic growth, improve investment decisions, and enhance confidence in Nigeria’s business environment.
The institute said accurate and professional valuation remains critical across sectors such as real estate, infrastructure, finance, and public asset management. It noted that improved valuation standards would help businesses and government agencies make better-informed decisions while ensuring resources are properly assessed and managed.
According to IACE, strengthening the valuation profession will contribute to transparency, attract investors, and promote efficient allocation of capital within the economy. The institute emphasized the need for continuous training, adherence to global standards, and collaboration among industry stakeholders.
Experts believe reliable valuation systems play an important role in building investor trust and supporting sustainable economic development. They added that improved practices could reduce financial risks and encourage more productive investments.
IACE reaffirmed its commitment to advancing professionalism in the valuation sector and supporting initiatives that contribute to Nigeria’s long-term economic growth.
