Odion Ighalo, the former Nigerian striker, has advised Victor Osimhen to move to the Premier League, calling it the best decision for his career.

With the 2025 summer transfer window fast approaching, Osimhen's future has been a subject of intense speculation, with several top clubs keeping a close watch on the prolific striker. Ighalo believes the Premier League offers the perfect platform for Osimhen to elevate his career further.

“Yeah, I believe he has done so well so far for his age and he’s still doing well,” the former Watford striker said. “This is the time for him to make the best decision,” Ighalo told Abu Azeez Podcast.

Currently on loan at Galatasaray in the Turkish Süper Lig from Italian Serie A side Napoli, Osimhen has been one of the standout performers in European football, leading the league’s scoring chart with 21 goals in 25 matches.

“I believe he should go to the Premier League, but you know he’s young. He has his agent, he has his advisor, and I believe they can advise him on what to do. If I were to advise him, I’d say the Premier League, because that is the big stage – the biggest league in the world. That’s where I believe he’s going to make an even bigger name for himself that he can carry throughout his career, even after football,” Ighalo said.

The former Manchester United striker also reiterated his full support for whatever decision Osimhen ultimately makes.
