Bimbo Ademoye has confronted a group of area boys who disrupted a Nollywood outdoor film shoot and demanded money from the production crew.

A video of the incident, which surfaced on social media, shows the men approaching the set and insisting on a “settlement” before filming could continue. The demand is a familiar form of extortion often reported on outdoor movie locations in parts of Lagos.

In the clip, the actress refused to be intimidated and told the men she was willing to appreciate people around her set, but would not respond to threats or forced payments.

“I am a street girl, let me tell you. Ask around, when it comes to matters of the street, I like settling boys. But you don’t come to me and tell me to give you a certain amount,” she said.

When one of the men insisted he was not begging, she pushed back, saying their approach amounted to pressure and intimidation. The exchange became more tense when a threat was made to disrupt filming equipment, but she responded firmly, questioning their authority over the production.

The men, seen in groups of about three to five, did not escalate the situation physically in the video, though their presence visibly disrupted the shoot. No weapons were observed.

The clip has since triggered widespread reactions online, with many praising her composure and highlighting the broader issue of extortion faced by film crews working in public spaces.

Industry observers note that such incidents have influenced a shift in Nollywood productions toward controlled indoor or gated locations, as producers seek to avoid disruptions, safety risks, and financial losses.

The practice of demanding payments from film crews on location remains a recurring challenge in parts of the industry.
