Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap, has directed officers to eliminate unnecessary delays, resolve complaints promptly and treat members of the public respectfully.

She also urged personnel to report suspected cyber threats as the service works to strengthen its digital security.

Nandap gave the directives at two events in Abuja: the closing ceremony of the 2026 International Customer Service Week and a cybersecurity awareness seminar.

According to service spokesperson DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, she said professionalism, integrity and customer satisfaction must become everyday standards.

The customer service programme, held from October 28 to 30, focused on encouraging officers to improve the experience of people accessing immigration services.

Nandap stressed that timely service and effective complaint handling should be key measures of staff performance.

At the cybersecurity seminar, where she was represented by Deputy Comptroller-General S.B. Daura, she described digital security as a shared responsibility.

She urged officers to follow established security procedures, remain alert and report suspicious activity without delay.

Experts from security, technology and data-protection institutions discussed safeguarding sensitive information, protecting critical systems and strengthening cooperation against cybercrime.

The service said continued training, technology upgrades and collaboration would support its efforts to protect digital records and improve border security and migration management.
