IMO GOVERNMENT BEGINS RECERTIFICATION OF LANDED PROPERTIES ACROSS STATE LAYOUTS
The Imo State Government has commenced a recertification exercise for all landed properties within Government Layouts across the 27 local government areas of the state.
In a statement from the office of the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, it was disclosed that the exercise follows a directive from the State Governor, Hope Uzodinma.
The Commissioner explained that the recertification process will start with a re-survey of all properties in layouts under the Owerri Schedule, beginning Monday, December 8, 2025.
Emelumba added that accredited land surveyors will be on-site to gather necessary data for the exercise, which will result in the issuance of new Certificates of Occupancy to eligible plot owners.
He urged all allottees and property owners to cooperate fully with the survey teams to ensure a smooth and successful exercise, noting that its completion will provide lasting benefits to property owners across the state.
